Denice Bentley

Co-founder & CEO of First Love Foundation, a charity based in Tower Hamlets working to see a world where people are empowered to lead sustainable, independent lives. The charity provides personalised support and advice for people in crisis, as well as emergency food.

In 2013, Denise pioneered the integration of both Welfare Rights and Housing Benefit advice into the Tower Hamlets Foodbank service through partnering with Child Poverty Action Group and the Local Authority, thereby the people referred not only receive food but also advice and advocacy.

First Love Foundation has also been acknowledged by the APPG inquiry on Hunger & Poverty (2014) as most effective in tackling poverty and its causes.

Prior to establishing First Love Foundation in 2010, Denise worked in Banking, Programme Management & Management Consultancy. She lives in Essex with her husband Aerold and two children.
