Nina is a champion for innovation and has extensive experience in waste treatment and nutrient management and, in 2012, was awarded an OBE for her long- standing services to the waste industry.
Nina is currently working with Wrap Cymru on the Welsh Bioeconomy. Previously she has worked closely with the UK’s Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs and the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, providing technical support for resource efficiency and bioeconomy policy development. She is the technical lead for WRAP’s work to help retailers, brands, farmers and growers realise value from unavoidable food waste, and is leading the Wrap Cymru programme to innovate and deliver relevant technology to the food sector. Nina sits on the industrial biotechnology and bioenergy advisory board for the BBSRC and maintains close links with academic research.
Nina bridges the gap between regulators and regulated industries. For example, she has ensured that changes to biowaste industry regulation have worked for the economy and the environment.
